My Hometown

My name is Mohd Shahrul Hazwan B. Zolkepli. I come from Jitra, Kedah. I had been living in Jitra since 5 years ago after my father retired of military service. Jitra located up northern of Kedah It is located in the Kubang Pasu district. Jitra is third biggest city in Kedah after Alor Setar who is also capital city of Kedah and Sungai Petani located in southern of Kedah. In map, Jitra position was 6.3° North and 100.4° East.

Story on Jitra, Jitra near to Kedah – Thailand border, namely 35 kms from border. Many of his population can speak Siamese language have even with generation Siamese, especially those living nearby with border. Jitra town can be connected through North South Highway namely Bukit Kayu Hitam northward and Kuala Lumpur southward.

Jitra famous with a couple great place such as Hutan Rekreasi Bukit Wang, Taman Tasik Bandar Darulaman, North University of Malaysia ( UUM ), and Bukit Kayu Hitam a tax – free areas.
